Wang Haiquan, director and screenwriter, was born in Yangquan, Shanxi Province in 2003. His works focus on realist themes and family and society. In 2023, he directed his short film debut, "Hands" with which he was shortlisted in the 17th First Youth Film Festival Ultra Short Film Unit, the 7th Shanghai University WE Love Cross-Strait Short Film Youth Competition, the 3rd Sohu Youth Curtain Project Ultra Short Film Unit, the World Cinema Festival Short Film Prize Fund Youth Director Support Program, and nominated for the Main Competition Unit of the Guilin Shanshui Youth Film Festival, as well as a number of other domestic and international film festivals and exhibitions.
The documentary "Wu" which will open in 2022, is being filmed.
