A girl loses the support of her father over an older boyfriend, and feels the pressure of culture on an important life decision. As regular routine emphasises how isolating life has become, a cup of tea from mum becomes more than a source of comfort.
Oregon, 1975. A chance encounter between three travelers out of gas on the side of the road and a kindly old man who stops to help them out, occurs on a foggy morning. Not all is as it seems, especially when it comes to the mysterious cargo these passengers carry.

Haunted by a past tragedy, James attempts to free himself from guilt by writing and delivering a letter of admission. Will he have the strength to see it through, or will he continue to be ruled by that which he cannot change?
In Between Words is my MFA thesis project for the University of Baltimore's Integrated Design program. I asked 35 people Gauguin's title questions, 'Where do we come from? What are we? Where are we going?' and examined the interviews for visual cues and pragmatic markers. I took the resulting data and interpreted it into an experimental film/animation based on my research.
