AARON LATOS
With a career spanning Americana (Margo Price), indie rock (These United States, The Still Tide), punk (members of the Pogues) and jazz (Kurt Elling), Newburgh NY-based percussionist Aaron Latos collaborates with musicians across the spectrum of contemporary American music.
Recently, his focus has been on improvisational music, including work to accompany dance/film (especially his 2-year old dancing around the room). Aaron has recently completed his first record as a bandleader, an avant-garde jazz trio recording jazz musicians Karl Berger and Ira Coleman. He also works regularly as a session musician in the NY and Nashville scenes.
One of his most recent projects, a record with Beacon rocker Stephen Clair entitled "Strange Perfume," is set for release the day after this ENE panel.
